What's new at the HBA

Dedicated Parade of Homes Web site to go live April 19!

The HBA is proud to announce its 50th Annual Spring Parade of Homes, a showcase of area builders.

Admission is free, and the event will be a scattered-site tour of homes throughout area communities built with pride by HBA of F-M builder members. Homes will cover a wide range of prices and include options for those age 55 and better, first-time buyers, people who need more space, and those needing to downsize.

Parade of Homes magazines detailing each home entry will be available at stores April 19-May 2. An insert including home listings and a map will be in The Forum April 18.


Upcoming Education Classes

Date TBD – EPA Lead-Based Paint Certification Training with the UND Environmental Training Institute – 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. at Cass County Electric Cooperative in Fargo. Class will satisfy requirements for renovator training certification by the EPA due April 22, 2010. Member cost is $150. Non-member cost is $225.

March 25-26 - Storm Water Training

According to new construction storm water regulations issued by the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) last year, certain contractors and developers MUST ATTEND 12-14 hours of storm water permit training prior to Feb. 1, 2010..

Federal Tax Credit Expanded and Extended

The Worker, Homeownership, and Business Assistance Act of 2009 has extended the tax credit of up to $8,000 for qualified first-time home buyers purchasing a principal residence. It also authorized a tax credit of up to $6,500 for qualified repeat home buyers.
